Obi Reacts To Fresh Kwara Killings

Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has strongly condemned the escalating violence in parts of Kwara State, urging the government to act swiftly as the situation poses a grave national security threat.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Obi mourned the victims of a deadly bandit attack in Oke-Ode, Ifelodun Local Government Area, which claimed the lives of several residents and vigilante members over the weekend.

Describing the assault as a senseless act of violence, Obi stressed the need for urgent and decisive measures from both government and security agencies to safeguard citizens.

He extended his condolences to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the people of Kwara State, and all those affected, praying for strength and comfort during this difficult period.

“With deep sorrow, I received the news of the tragic killings in Oke-Ode, Kwara State, where innocent lives, including vigilantes and the Baale of Ogbayo, were brutally cut short in yet another wave of violence by armed bandits.

“Once again, our nation mourns as innocent lives are wasted. These recurring tragedies highlight the need for an urgent declaration of emergency on national security. No Nigerian should be forced to live in constant fear. We cannot continue to normalise tragedy.
