Obi Stands Tall On Integrity – ‘He’ll Never Deceive The People’, Obidient Leader Defends One-Term Plan

Speaking during an interview on Arise Television, Tanko emphasized Obi’s unwavering commitment to integrity, stating he would never renege on any agreement reached in good faith.
“It’s a matter of principle,” Tanko said. “If the coalition decides on a one-term presidency, Peter Obi will honour that. He is a man of his word and would never break an agreement made sincerely.”
Tanko also defended Obi’s recent remark that he could stabilize Nigeria within two years in office, pointing to his previous trip to Egypt where he studied the country’s electricity model as evidence of his dedication to actionable solutions.
“This isn’t mere rhetoric. As Governor of Anambra, Obi united people and resolved governance issues within his first term. Fixing electricity alone could radically change Nigeria’s economy. The impact on small businesses would be massive,” Tanko explained.
He noted that Obi’s appeal is growing across the country, especially in the North, citing the increasing recognition from traditional institutions.
“Just today, members of the Emirate Council came to honour him. That’s a clear sign of acceptance. Whether Hausa, Fulani, Muslim, or Christian—we are rallying behind someone who can unify Nigeria,” he said.
Addressing speculations about a potential alliance with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Tanko dismissed the claims, stating:
“That conversation hasn’t even happened. There’s no talk of a joint ticket with Atiku. What we’re focused on is building a movement grounded in integrity and service, not elite political deals.”
Tanko added that consultations are ongoing with like-minded groups and political parties, but any alliance must prioritize national interest over personal ambition.
“Obi is not building coalitions based on religion or ethnicity, but on capacity and competence. This is about rescuing Nigeria, not business as usual,” he concluded.
