Obi’s Candidacy Haunts Us” — Labour Party Reveals Regret In Viral Video
Speaking at a press conference in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Friday, July 11, Arabambi said the party passed over a more suitable candidate—Faduri Oluwadare Joseph, a U.S.-certified nurse and seasoned entrepreneur with diverse business interests. Arabambi further alleged that the Labour Party leadership is now planning to expel Obi for aligning with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition.
He criticized Obi’s campaign for what he called “ethnic polarization,” claiming that while Faduri enjoyed broad-based national appeal, Obi’s movement was tainted by ethnic sentiments.
“Obi’s failure to openly reject the secessionist rhetoric of Nnamdi Kanu, his inconsistent stance on insecurity, and his habit of framing national issues through a narrow political lens all point to a worrying lack of national outlook,” Arabambi said.
He stressed that Nigeria needs a leader who upholds the rule of law and addresses national issues with clarity and fairness—qualities he believes Faduri possesses, but Obi lacks.
“The Labour Party’s decision to sideline Faduri for Obi was a critical error that continues to affect us. Instead of a visionary with concrete plans for national development, we ended up with a populist who excels at telling people what they want to hear,” Arabambi stated.
He concluded by warning that the same mistake must not be repeated in the 2027 elections, saying the country needs leaders like Faduri who understand that governance requires depth, commitment, and meaningful reform—not catchy slogans.
