Obi’s Defeat Is Certain – Not Even Juju Can Help Him Beat Tinubu, Adeyanju Review

Human rights activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has declared that Peter Obi, former presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), stands no chance of winning the 2027 presidential election.

During an interview on Arise Television, Adeyanju asserted that even if Obi were to swear in a shrine to serve only one term, it would not convince Nigerians to vote for him.

He emphasized that in his view, the only Southern politician capable of defeating President Bola Tinubu is former President Goodluck Jonathan, due to his eligibility to serve just one term.

Adeyanju said:

“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: if any Southerner has a chance against Tinubu, it’s Goodluck Jonathan, because he can only do one more term.

“As for Peter Obi, it’s not about promises or oaths. Even if he swears in a shrine, the people won’t believe him, and they won’t vote for him.

“I simply don’t see any Southern candidate capable of defeating Tinubu in 2027.

“If Atiku were to step aside, he could throw his weight behind a younger Northerner or another candidate. It doesn’t always have to be about one individual; sometimes, you support from behind the scenes.”
