Ogun Government Announces Friday As A Work-Free DayThe Ogun State Government has declared Friday, November 15, a work-free day for all civil and public servants to encourage full participation in the upcoming local government elections. The announcement, made through a circular signed by the Head of Service, Kehinde Onasanya, aims to ensure that citizens can freely exercise their voting rights without workplace constraints.

According to the circular, the holiday was declared by Governor Dapo Abiodun to promote active involvement in the elections, which are scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 16, across the state’s 20 local government areas and 237 wards.

The work-free day is intended to support the electoral process by allowing state workers the opportunity to participate in the election without hindrance. Onasanya emphasized that this move underscores Governor Abiodun’s commitment to fostering democratic participation and engagement in Ogun State.

“This decision is in line with Governor Abiodun’s ongoing efforts to prioritize the welfare of citizens and their active participation in the democratic processes,” Onasanya said.

Ogun Governor Mourns Death of Housing Adviser

In another development, the Ogun State government is in mourning following the passing of Hon. Tajudeen Egunjobi, the Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Housing. Egunjobi, who died after a brief illness, was remembered for his humility, hard work, and dedication to public service.

Governor Abiodun expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing Egunjobi as an exceptional and loyal adviser who had made significant contributions to the state’s housing sector. “His dedication and efforts were pivotal in the success of our housing initiatives, and his legacy will live on,” the governor said.

Egunjobi, an architect by profession, had also served as a member of the Ogun State House of Assembly. His passing has left a deep void in the state’s governance, and the governor extended condolences to his family during a visit to offer support.

The State Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Jagunmolu Jamiu Omoniyi, also paid tribute to Egunjobi, praising his hard work and loyalty, which were instrumental in the success of Ogun’s housing projects.

The family, in a statement, expressed gratitude for the support extended by the state government and wished Governor Abiodun continued success in his leadership.
