In a statement released on Monday, Abiodun announced this directive following the closure of two illegal garages located at NNPC Junction and opposite the June 12 Cultural Centre in Abeokuta. The operation was carried out by the State Taskforce on Environmental Compliance and Enforcement, led by Chairman Alhaji Farook Akintunde.

The governor has extended the operation statewide, particularly targeting illegal garages in the Mowe-Ibafo and Sango-Ota areas. He emphasized that these garages pose security risks to residents, often serving as hideouts for criminals due to the shanties and makeshift structures associated with them.

“As a responsible government, we will not stand by while these operators expose our citizens to unnecessary danger,” Abiodun declared.
