Okpebholo Appoints New Chief Medical Director For Edo Specialist HospitalGovernor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has approved the appointment of Dr. Mrs. Anthonia Inibokun Njoku (nee Ebare) as the new Chief Medical Director of Edo Specialist Hospital, Benin City. Dr. Mrs. Njoku is a seasoned medical professional with a robust educational background. She attended the College of Medical Sciences at the University of Maiduguri, the West African College of Surgeons, the West Africa Bioethics Institute in Ibadan, the University of Benin, and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where she earned multiple qualifications, including a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.), an MSc in Reproductive Health, a Diploma in Bioethics, and a Certificate in Principles and Practice of Clinical Research from Harvard.

Dr. Njoku is a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS), as well as a Fellow of the International College of Surgeons. She has also served as the Past Secretary of the Nigeria Medical Association and is a member of various professional bodies, including the Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of Nigeria, the Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), and the Medical Women’s Association.

Before her appointment, Dr. Njoku held significant roles in several health institutions. She was a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the College of Medical Sciences, Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, and an Honorary Consultant, Special Grade 1, in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital in Edo State.
