Ola Of Lagos Opens Up On Being Looked Down On Over His Educational Background

Nigerian content creator and businessman Ola of Lagos has opened up about being underestimated by some people because of his educational background and humble beginnings.

During an interview, Ola of Lagos was asked whether he had ever experienced situations where people looked down on him because of where he came from.

Responding, the content creator acknowledged that such experiences had occurred but said he did not allow them to affect him deeply.

“Yes. It doesn’t really pain me but imagine people adding me to the Olodo Uprising list,” he said.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Ola explained that some people appear to judge him because he did not attend school, leading them to describe or perceive him as a “riffraff” despite the way he conducts and presents himself.

“Because I didn’t go to school, they think I’m a riffraff, despite how I package myself,” he stated.

His comments come amid wider conversations about the importance of formal education and the perception of young Nigerians who pursue alternative career paths. The “Olodo Uprising” phrase had previously gained attention after singer Ycee criticized what he described as attitudes that could undermine the importance of education among young people.

Ola of Lagos’ remarks have since drawn attention to the way educational background and personal beginnings can influence how individuals are perceived, particularly in the entertainment and content-creation space.
