In a statement issued on Thursday, Olatunde clarified that Governor Akeredolu is still in Germany, where he continues to recover from his medical condition and has not yet returned to Nigeria.

Olatunde assured the people of Ondo State and Nigerians in general that the governor’s return would be widely announced once it occurs. He cautioned against giving credence to false information and preemptive rumors that may be instigated by anxious politicians.
The statement concluded by reiterating, “For emphasis, Governor Akeredolu has not yet returned to the country.” During his absence, Governor Akeredolu has temporarily handed over the reins of power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who is currently serving in an acting capacity.
