The coastal community has faced persistent sea encroachment, prompting the monarch to emphasize its urgency if Ajayi is elected. While welcoming Ajayi’s campaign team to Ajapa Kingdom on Tuesday, Oba Aboyewa appealed for assistance in reclaiming Ayetoro, which is at risk of being overwhelmed by the sea.

He stated, “If elected, we implore you to save the Ayetoro Community from sea incursion. If Ayetoro faces extinction, Ajapa Kingdom may also suffer similar consequences.”

In response, Ajayi assured the monarch that he would prioritize the protection of Ayetoro if elected governor. He expressed gratitude for the king’s concern, saying, “I appreciate the brotherly love you have shown in wanting to save Ayetoro from extinction. I can assure you that if we assume office by next February, we will push the sea back from Ayetoro by at least two kilometers. This will not be magic, but a commitment we are ready to fulfill.”

Ajayi also visited several towns and villages in Ese Odo LGA, promising to meet the developmental needs of the community. Addressing the crowd, he affirmed, “I will never disappoint you, and I will ensure all necessary development in Ese Odo LG is addressed effectively.
