Cross River Governor Announces N498 Billion Budget For 2025Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, presented a proposed budget of N498 billion for the 2025 fiscal year, titled the “Sustainable Growth Budget,” to the State House of Assembly in Calabar on Tuesday.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In his breakdown, Otu allocated N328 billion (66%) for capital expenditure and N170 billion (34%) for recurrent spending. He emphasized that the budget aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-being, Quality Education, Industry and Innovation, and Peace and Justice.

“The 2025 budget is designed around the SDG benchmarks to ensure continuity of key projects and programmes that require rollover into the new fiscal year,” Otu explained.

He noted that the budget reflects extensive consultations with the community and the aspirations of Cross River residents.

Elvert Ayambem, Speaker of the Cross River House of Assembly, expressed optimism that the budget would facilitate significant development across the state. He praised Otu’s administration for its achievements, particularly the consistent payment of salaries and gratuities to civil servants.
