Oluwatuyi Olasoji, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in Akure South Local Government, Ondo State, has passed away a few days after collapsing while waiting to purchase fuel at a petrol station.

As reported by Sunshine Truth, a local news outlet, Olasoji was immediately rushed to the Federal Medical Center in Owo after he collapsed. He had been receiving treatment at the hospital and underwent surgery but, sadly, passed away on Monday, September 9.

Fuel scarcity has plagued Nigerians for some time now, causing long queues at filling stations as people endure extended waits to secure the essential commodity.
