Ondo Officials Speak Out On Aiyedatiwa’s Viral Domestic Violence IncidentThe Ondo State government has firmly denied allegations that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa was involved in domestic violence against his spouse.

In response to a viral video purportedly showing the governor in a domestic altercation, the government labeled the footage as an act of blackmail. Allen Sowore, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Strategic Communication, accused opposition parties of being behind the video’s circulation in an attempt to damage the governor’s reputation.

Sowore stated, “As we approach the November 16, 2024, Ondo State Governorship Election, it is becoming increasingly clear that the incumbent Governor, His Excellency Lucky Aiyedatiwa, is gaining momentum. In reaction, opposition parties, particularly the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), appear willing to employ any tactics, including blackmail and the spread of fake news, to undermine the Governor’s image.”

He further explained, “The recent tactic involves disseminating a video of a man of average age engaged in a domestic dispute with a woman. The intent behind this scandalous video is malicious, aiming to tarnish the reputation of Governor Aiyedatiwa, who is also the APC candidate.”

Sowore emphasized the importance of clarifying to the public that the individual in the video is not the governor. He noted, “Upon closer inspection, there are several significant differences between the man in the video and Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. For instance, the governor no longer has the type of beard seen in the footage, having altered his appearance over a year ago.”
