Online Outrage, Old Tweets and a Sudden Sack—Ezra Olubi Tells His Side of the Story
According to emerging reports, Ezra Olubi, co-founder and former Chief Technology Officer of Paystack, has alleged that his dismissal from the company was unjust and based on unresolved accusations of sexual misconduct. Olubi made the disclosure in a blog post released on Sunday, November 23, 2025, breaking his silence after days of online controversy.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The dispute intensified after Max “Makispoke” Obae publicly accused Olubi of misogyny during a discussion on an X Space, prompting several old tweets attributed to Olubi—containing explicit and disturbing content—to resurface. These posts triggered widespread allegations ranging from misogyny to predatory behavior. In response, Paystack reportedly suspended Olubi on November 12 and initiated what was described as an independent inquiry.
Olubi stated that he refrained from public commentary to avoid influencing the investigation, adding that the silence allowed widespread speculation and misrepresentation. He insisted that the resurfaced posts do not reflect his values or conduct, stressing that those familiar with him professionally understand his commitment to respectful and ethical behavior.
In his blog post, Olubi said he was informed of his termination on Saturday, November 22, 2025, claiming the decision was made before the investigation concluded and without an opportunity for him to defend himself—a move he says contradicts Paystack’s internal procedures and the terms of his suspension. He noted that, as a co-founder and long-serving technical leader, he had been instrumental in establishing many of the company’s internal systems and expected a fair process.
Olubi added that his legal team is reviewing the circumstances surrounding his dismissal to determine next steps. Paystack and its parent company, Stripe, have yet to issue any public statement on the development.
