OPC Leader Shares Personal Encounter With Fraud Deceived By Impersonator Posing as Oyo Assembly Lawmaker

According to Ifawale, the self-acclaimed lawmaker, residing at Oke Odan in Apete, Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State, approached him in February of this year. Presenting himself as both a legislator and a travel agent, the fraudster convinced Ifawale to part with N4 million under the false pretext of assisting with the processing of travel documents.

Trusting the individual due to his purported association with the Oyo State House of Assembly, Ifawale soon grew suspicious when the supposed lawmaker ceased responding to his calls. Despite numerous attempts to contact him through various channels, Ifawale’s efforts proved futile.

Recently, Ifawale received messages from the fraudster claiming to be in Abuja. When confronted about the refund of the misappropriated funds, the individual consistently offered excuses. Frustrated and left in a difficult financial situation, Ifawale is now appealing to Governor Seyi Makinde, as well as leaders of both the PDP and APC, to intervene promptly.

Expressing his plea, Ifawale stated, “Wherever he is, he should come out to pay me my money. He is feeding his family while I don’t have money to feed mine because he defrauded me. I am begging now. If he doesn’t want me to take any drastic action against him, he should just pay me my money.” Ifawale hopes for a swift resolution to his predicament through the intervention of relevant authorities.
