Orban On Fire! Nigerian Striker Moves Ahead Of Osimhen After Beşiktaş Heroics
Nigerian striker Gift Orban has moved one goal ahead of compatriot Victor Osimhen in the Turkish Süper Lig scoring race following another impressive performance for Amedspor.
According to Bush Radio Academy, Orban played a key role as Amedspor defeated Beşiktaş 3-2 on Sunday, scoring the opening goal and contributing to another as the newly promoted side secured an important victory.
The 24-year-old striker opened the scoring in the 13th minute with a powerful effort before Amedspor doubled their advantage through Dia Saba in the 22nd minute. Furkan Soyalp added a third in the 59th minute, while Beşiktaş responded through Dušan Vlahović and a late Orkun Kökçü penalty.
Orban’s goal took his league tally to seven goals in six appearances, while he has also provided two assists. The forward has now scored in four consecutive league matches and has been among Amedspor’s most influential players during their strong start to the campaign.
His latest strike has also moved him ahead of fellow Nigerian Osimhen, who currently has six league goals for Galatasaray. Orban is not, however, the outright leading scorer, as he is level on seven goals with Trabzonspor forward Mohamed Salah.
The victory over Beşiktaş also lifted Amedspor to the top of the Süper Lig table with 13 points heading into the international break. The club’s impressive start has coincided with Orban’s prolific run in front of goal.
Orban’s resurgence has attracted renewed attention after a difficult period in his career, with his current form placing him among the leading scorers in Turkey. His seven goals and two assists in six league appearances underline his significant contribution to Amedspor’s campaign so far.
