Osun 2026: Oyebamiji Finally Congratulates Adeleke In Major U-Turn

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the recently concluded Osun State election, Bola Oyebamiji, has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his victory at the polls.

Bush Radio Academy reports that Oyebamiji, while addressing APC leaders, members and supporters in Osogbo on Saturday, urged Adeleke to prioritise the protection of lives and property as the state moves into the post-election period.

The former APC candidate said his decision to congratulate Adeleke was made “in the spirit of democracy” following the declaration of the election result by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Oyebamiji called on the governor to uphold his constitutional responsibility to protect residents and maintain peace, particularly at a time when tensions could remain high following the election.

He also demanded an immediate end to what he described as violence, intimidation and harassment against APC members and supporters across the state.

Oyebamiji called for thorough investigations into the deaths of former Irewole Local Government chairman Remi Abass, APC chairman in Atakumosa Local Government Area Gbenga Ogbara, Dele Ayegbo, nephew of Wole Oke and Director-General of his 2026 Governorship Campaign Council, as well as more than 35 other people reportedly killed in politically related incidents.

According to him, the police must conduct comprehensive investigations and ensure that anyone found responsible for the killings is prosecuted in accordance with the law.

The former candidate sympathised with the families of those who lost their loved ones to political violence and maintained that such incidents should no longer be tolerated.

Oyebamiji also raised concerns over alleged attacks on innocent residents and business owners based on their perceived political affiliations or refusal to support the Accord Party.

He stressed that continued violence against citizens and businesses could undermine economic activity, investment and employment opportunities in the state.

The APC chieftain urged the Adeleke administration to ensure that residents and businesses operate in a secure and stable environment capable of supporting economic growth.

Oyebamiji also appealed to APC supporters not to lose confidence in democracy or become discouraged by the outcome of the election, urging them to continue believing in the country’s democratic institutions.

He called on party members to remain united, strengthen the APC’s structures across Osun State and continue working towards future electoral victories for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other party candidates.

Oyebamiji also expressed appreciation to President Tinubu, former Osun State Governor Bisi Akande and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, for their support and contributions to his campaign and the development of the APC in the state.
