Osun Election Sh*ck: Atedo Peterside Raises Alarm Over 62 Missing Results On INEC’s IReV

President and founder of the Anap Foundation, Atedo Peterside, has questioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the failure to upload results from 62 polling units to its Result Viewing (IReV) portal following the Osun State governorship election.

Peterside raised the concern in a post on on Sunday, shortly after INEC declared Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party the winner of the election.

Adeleke secured 511,067 votes, defeating his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 444,815 votes.

Reacting to the development, Peterside acknowledged that Adeleke’s victory had already been established but insisted that INEC should account for the results that were yet to be uploaded to the IReV portal.

He said that as of 8:50 a.m. on Sunday, the day after the election, INEC’s IReV platform had recorded 98.35 per cent of the results instead of a complete 100 per cent.

Peterside questioned why results from 62 out of the state’s 3,763 polling units had not been uploaded.

He said, “As at 8.50 am on the day after the elections (today), INEC’s IREV had 98.35% of the results uploaded instead of 100%.

“INEC must still explain why they have NOT uploaded the results from 62 Polling Units out of 3,763 Polling Units.”

Peterside also said the Osun election had highlighted the importance of voter participation in safeguarding the electoral process and reducing the risk of malpractice.

According to him, the 43.4 per cent voter turnout recorded in Osun was relatively high by recent Nigerian standards and demonstrated that strong voter participation could serve as an effective deterrent to electoral manipulation.

“Some of us refuse to get carried away by the #OsunGuber2026 Election result. The only thing it really proves is that a large voter turnout (43.4% in Osun is high by recent Nigerian standards) is the best antidote to rigging,” he said.

He urged citizens and other stakeholders to continue monitoring INEC’s activities and demanded greater transparency and accountability in the management of elections.

While Peterside acknowledged that the outstanding results might not alter the final outcome since Adeleke had already been declared winner, he maintained that INEC still owed the public an explanation for the delay in uploading the results.
