The state’s Commissioner for Environment and Sanitation, Hon. Mayowa Adejoorin, emphasized this during the opening of the 256th meeting of the Forestry Association of Nigeria (FAN) held in Osun state. He pointed out that Governor Ademola Adeleke is dedicated to creating a clean and conducive environment for the people of Osun.
Adejoorin noted that Governor Adeleke understands the positive impact of a clean and conducive environment on the well-being of the citizens. He mentioned that the governor recently approved tree planting initiatives in government reserves and extended them to schools and households in the state.
The Commissioner explained that the governor’s concern has led to the reintroduction of household sanitation inspections in the state.
In his address, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Sanitation, Mr. Timothy Olawuni, highlighted the governor’s efforts to introduce innovations that would promote growth in the environmental and sanitation sector and elevate the state’s standing among its peers.
