In a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, the governor assured his cabinet that his commitment to good governance remains steadfast. He emphasized that his administration would continue to prioritize democratic dividends and the completion of key projects for the people of Osun.
“Last month was filled with turbulence,” Adeleke stated. “We faced an abuse of federal power, from security agencies to judicial manipulations.”
He further described the ordeal as an attempt to place Osun “under siege in an unimaginable manner.” However, he praised his administration’s resilience, declaring, “We survived the malicious onslaught. The forces of darkness failed in their bid to throw Osun into chaos. With divine wisdom and overwhelming public support, we have not only retained control but further solidified our hold on the state.”
Adeleke also celebrated the successful conduct of local government elections and the swearing-in of elected officials while reaffirming legal measures to remove “illegal occupants” from local government positions.
Additionally, he stressed his administration’s ongoing efforts to ensure accountability regarding procurement and financial mismanagement from the previous government.
Commending his cabinet for their dedication, the governor urged continued vigilance, warning, “The opposition remains desperate and is lurking in the shadows. We must stay alert and focused, resisting any attempts to derail us. Our priority must be delivering on our five-point agenda, completing all ongoing projects, and launching new ones to extend democratic dividends across the state.”
Adeleke also announced plans to unveil the 2025 infrastructure project implementation strategy, outlining key milestones and inspection schedules for ongoing and completed projects.
“Tomorrow, I will present our 2025 infrastructure project plan and timelines,” he stated. “This will mark the beginning of statewide inspections and the commissioning of completed projects.”
