Painful Loss: Fresh FUNAAB First-Class Graduate Dies In Alleged Hit-And-Run Crash

Friends, colleagues and associates have been thrown into mourning following the reported death of a fresh first-class graduate of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), identified as Mayowa and popularly known as Mayorwhiz.

Mayowa, who was said to have recently completed his university education with first-class honours, was reportedly working as a dispatch rider in Ogun State as he sought to earn a living after graduation.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Mayowa was involved in a fatal road accident while riding a Qlink dispatch motorcycle around the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in the Kuto area of Abeokuta on Saturday, September 12, 2026.

Reports circulating online indicated that the collision involved a red Lexus ES 350 and occurred at about 3:45 p.m. along the inbound Kuto underpass. Mayowa was reportedly presumed dead at the scene, after which his remains were conveyed to a general hospital in a vehicle belonging to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

The report further alleged that two male occupants of the Lexus fled the scene shortly after the crash. Their identities and whereabouts were not immediately known, while details surrounding the circumstances of the accident remained unclear.

The news of Mayowa’s death has reportedly left those who knew him devastated, particularly following his recent academic achievement and efforts to build a livelihood after completing his studies. His transition from university graduation into working as a dispatch rider has also drawn attention to the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

As friends and associates mourn the young graduate, questions remain over the alleged hit-and-run incident and efforts to establish what exactly led to the fatal collision.
