The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to tackle Nigeria’s worsening insecurity with urgency, strategic reforms, and proactive diplomacy — particularly in light of recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking after the November Holy Ghost Service of the church, themed “The Eve of Glory,” Pastor Adeboye stressed that every human life is sacred and urged the Federal Government to set clear performance targets for security agencies.

He advised President Tinubu to give the nation’s security chiefs 90 days to eliminate terrorist networks or step aside, noting that similar recommendations were made to the late President Muhammadu Buhari during his tenure.

While acknowledging some initial progress under Buhari, Adeboye lamented that the efforts were not sustained long enough to restore lasting stability.

The respected cleric also urged the government to unmask and prosecute terrorism financiers, insisting that no individual — regardless of political or social status — should be shielded from accountability. He maintained that exposing those bankrolling insecurity would restore public confidence and reinforce national unity.

Addressing the global dimension of the security crisis, Adeboye appealed to President Tinubu to open diplomatic channels with President Trump and seek a 100-day grace period before any form of international intervention.

He argued that such diplomatic engagement would allow Nigeria to demonstrate tangible progress while strengthening trust with its international partners.

“In my usual quiet way, I have related with all presidents who were in office when this trouble started. Whatever I discussed with them privately, I did my best behind the scenes. But you can only advise the Commander-in-Chief — not command him,” Adeboye said.

“If I were to advise the government, I would say: act fast, act wisely, and act diplomatically. Convince the President of America to delay any planned action for about 100 days. Then come home and instruct the service chiefs to eradicate terrorists within 90 days or step down.”

He recalled that former President Buhari once issued such an order based on similar counsel, but the follow-up was weak.

Adeboye warned that if the U.S. were to strike militarily, Nigeria should not expect any real assistance from global powers.

“When I say our leaders must move quickly and diplomatically, it’s because if America attacks us, other world powers will condemn it — but that’s all. No one will come to our aid,” he said.

“This is not a time for politics, arguments, or empty grammar. It’s not about Christians or Muslims. Innocent Nigerians are dying — and action must be taken now.”
