He recommended that ECOWAS should prioritize engaging with the people of Niger to comprehend their aspirations rather than resorting to military intervention.
Pastor Chris, renowned as a spiritual figure, stressed that the citizens of Niger should be granted the autonomy to make their own decisions.
He highlighted that the government of President Mohamed Bazoum, which is reportedly perceived as imposed by some, has faced resistance from the Nigerien population.
In light of this, he maintained that the sovereign nation should be allowed to determine its path.
During his sermon, Pastor Chris remarked, “The government was imposed on them, they don’t agree they voted for the government, if that is the case, then what the Nigeriens want should be up to them.
It is not right that other countries should go to war with Niger without finding out what the people want. They too are a sovereign nation and our role should be to pray for them to achieve peace. The type of government they wish to have is their decision to make.”
Furthermore, Pastor Chris directed his prayers towards averting the specter of war that looms over Africa. He vocalized his hopes for a harmonious and peaceful environment across the continent.
