PDP Boils In Lagos: Bode George, Koshoedo Lock Horns In Fierce Power Struggle

Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, has accused the party’s Deputy National Secretary, Hon. Setonji Koshoedo, of sidelining PDP leaders in Lagos State.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In an open letter addressed to the PDP National Chairman and members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) on Friday, George alleged that Koshoedo singlehandedly managed the distribution of congress nomination forms without consulting state leaders.

According to him, Koshoedo’s position as a member of the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) does not grant him the authority to appoint leaders in Lagos or assume the role of state leader.

George claimed that Koshoedo’s actions have escalated tensions, even leading to his being declared persona non grata in the state.

“Does Koshoedo’s role in the NWC give him the power to appoint leaders at will in Lagos?” George asked in the letter.

He further warned that the way ward and local government congresses were being handled could trigger acrimony, disrupt public peace, and spark legal battles.

The PDP chieftain also alleged that some nomination forms were distributed to individuals no longer active in the party.

“The PDP has only just emerged from a turbulent period, and all loyal members must resist any attempt to drag us back. We are issuing this early warning to Hon. Koshoedo to prevent political unrest in Lagos. His conduct has left us with no choice but to declare him a political persona non grata in the state,” George wrote.

He urged the PDP National Working Committee to intervene and ensure fairness and transparency in the congress process, stressing that Lagos members were willing to purchase nomination forms so long as they were distributed equitably.

“Members of the public are watching closely, and our actions must be just and above board. Unfortunately, Koshoedo has sidelined genuine party leaders holding regular meetings in Lagos while empowering individuals who long abandoned the PDP — reportedly to advance his 2027 governorship ambition,” George added.
