George emphasized the need for the party’s elders to intervene and address the self-serving ambitions that he believes are damaging the PDP. “Personalized ambitions are undermining the party’s unity and progress,” he stated.
The retired Commodore recalled that the PDP’s founding fathers, including the late Dr. Alex Ekwueme, prioritized unity over ethnicity and religion when establishing the party. He highlighted that by dividing Nigeria into six zones and allocating the top six national positions accordingly, the party promoted inclusivity and a sense of belonging.
George expressed concern that persistent personal ambitions could lead to issues of marginalization and exclusion within the party. Additionally, he urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to implement restructuring reforms to promote true federalism and enhance national cohesion.
