PDP Governors Criticize Lawsuit Pressing For NEC Meeting As Unfounded And MaliciousThe Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum (PDP-GF) has issued a strong denial regarding reports that its Chairman or his associates filed a lawsuit against the party in Gusau, Zamfara State. Recent reports claimed that individuals associated with the Bauchi Governor sought an interim injunction from the Federal High Court in Gusau to compel the PDP to hold its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting as planned. However, the court denied this request.
It is important to note that last week, PDP Governors called on members involved in legal disputes against the party to withdraw those cases to promote reconciliation.
Dr. Agbo clarified, “The PDP Governors’ Forum, led by His Excellency Senator Bala Mohammed, Governor of Bauchi State, has been made aware of an online report stating that the Chairman filed a case in the Federal High Court in Gusau for an ex parte order to convene the PDP’s NEC meeting. We categorically state that neither the Chairman nor any proxy acting on his behalf is associated with this lawsuit.”
He emphasized that supporters and all Nigerians should disregard the false claims regarding any legal actions instigated by the Chairman or any members of the Forum. The statement labeled the reports as “dubious, malicious, and intended to tarnish the reputation of Governor Bala Mohammed.”
In a related matter, a Federal High Court in Abuja recently issued an injunction preventing the PDP’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and Board of Trustees (BoT) from removing Acting National Chairman Amb. Umar Damagum from office until December 2025, following a case filed by party members in Yobe State, his home state.
