PDP In Turmoil: Ologbondiyan Demands Damagum’s Exit Over Internal Crisis
Former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbondiyan, has called on the party’s acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, to vacate his position and allow the North Central zone to produce a substantive chairman.
Speaking on AIT’s Focus Nigeria, Ologbondiyan criticized Damagum’s leadership, alleging that he has been responsible for the confusion and misdirection within the opposition party.
“Only Damagum can explain to Nigerians why he is mismanaging the party and creating unrest. He owes it to himself and the party to act with fairness, equity, and justice,” Ologbondiyan said.
He stressed that anyone occupying a position of leadership—no matter how small—has a duty to uphold principles of justice and fairness.
“I’ve said it for over a year now: Damagum should step aside and let the North Central produce a substantive chairman. The current situation only opens the PDP to endless internal crises,” he added.
Ologbondiyan warned that the party risks deeper division unless decisive action is taken to restore proper leadership and constitutional order.
