Peter Obi Should Spread This Good News’ – Onanuga Brags As Naira Maintains Strength Against Dollar

In a post via X on Thursday, Onanuga highlighted that the Naira has been maintaining stability against the US dollar and other foreign currencies.

Onanuga’s statement follows Bloomberg reports indicating an unusual period of stability for the Naira. Analysts have expressed optimism that this trend could persist.

Despite the Naira losing 70% of its value against the dollar since the relaxation of foreign exchange controls in 2023, including a significant depreciation over the past 12 months, Onanuga described the recent stability as positive news and urged Peter Obi to share it.

He wrote, “The Naira is holding its ground against the greenback and other currencies. This is good news, not bad news. I invite Mr. Peter Obi to retweet this encouraging story.”

Meanwhile, Labour Party Chairman in Enugu State, Casmir Agbo, has urged critics to refrain from attacking the 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

He argued that Obi’s remarks on the state of the nation do not warrant the criticism he is facing.

Agbo warned that there could be consequences in Nigeria if anything were to happen to the former Anambra Governor.

Speaking to newsmen in Enugu, Agbo pointed out that the anti-Obi reactions highlight that true democracy is still absent in the country.

He noted that the responses from the APC contrast with President Tinubu’s activism during the military era.
