Taking to his verified X account on Tuesday, Ahmad stated that Obi should have publicly condemned the act and extended condolences to Sahabi’s family and the EFCC.

“I expected Peter Obi to surprise us by extending his condolences to the EFCC and the family of Aminu Sahabi, who was brutally murdered while performing his official duties by a suspected internet fraudster, Joshua Chukwubueze Ikechukwu,” Ahmad posted. “I assumed he would have strongly condemned the killing, especially since it happened in his state, Anambra.”

Sahabi, an Assistant Superintendent with the EFCC, was fatally shot on Friday during a raid in Awka. The attack was reportedly carried out by Chukwuka Josiah Ikechukwu Nnamdi from Ifite, Awka, while Sahabi and his team attempted to arrest suspected cybercriminals.

In a statement issued on Sunday, EFCC Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, confirmed that Sahabi was killed in the line of duty.
