Nigerian Army’s Successful Raid Results in Capture of Militant Camp and Seizure of Weapons in Bayelsa State
On Sunday, June 25, 2023, troops from the 5 Battalion under the 16 Brigade of the Nigerian Army conducted a raid operation in Azuzuama Community, located in the Ijaw South Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. During the operation, the highly motivated troops used superior firepower to subdue the suspected militants, forcing them to flee the camp in disarray. This well-executed raid operation resulted in the capture of an armory within the camp.CONTINUE READING
The seized items include 5 AK 47 Rifles, 2 Rocket Propelled Grenade Bombs, 4 Rocket Grenade Bomb Chargers, seven 7.62mm Special ammunition, 14 AK 47 Rifle Magazines, and one pumping machine. Additionally, the troops recovered two 16-inch anchored verve, one mallet hammer, one pipe range spinner, and one axe. To ensure the eradication of the illicit activities, the camp was destroyed by the troops.
