Police Command Steps Up: Fresh Security Protocols For Ondo LG Elections Revealed

The Ondo State Police Command has announced a restriction on the movement of vehicles and motorcycles from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday to ensure a secure environment for the upcoming Local Government (LG) elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Commissioner of Police Wilfred Afolabi shared the directive in a statement issued on Thursday by the command’s spokesperson, CSP Funmilayo Odunlami, in Akure.

The restriction is aimed at enhancing security during the electoral process. Travelers passing through the state are advised to adjust their schedules to avoid disruptions.

“Security personnel, health workers, firefighters, and other essential service providers will be permitted free movement to perform their duties. Emergencies will also be considered for movement,” the statement said.

The Police urged eligible voters to adhere to electoral guidelines while performing their civic duties and warned troublemakers to stay away.

“All measures are in place to address any potential disturbances swiftly and effectively,” the Commissioner emphasized.

He assured the public that adequate security arrangements had been made to protect both personnel and materials, ensuring a smooth and peaceful election process.
