According to ASP Yazid Abubakar, spokesman for the Zamfara State Police Command, Liman was stopped by military personnel from Operation Dadarin Daji in the Danmarke area of Bukkuyum Local Government Area. Despite identifying himself as a police officer, Liman was shot on the spot by the soldier.

In a statement, Abubakar condemned the attack and called for a thorough investigation to hold those responsible accountable. He described the incident as a severe breach of the rules of engagement and inter-agency cooperation, demanding immediate action from relevant authorities.

Abubakar emphasized the importance of maintaining cooperation between the police and military to ensure public trust and security. He extended condolences to Liman’s family and colleagues and promised to pursue justice for the fallen officer.
