The incident came to light when a concerned individual shared a video online, seeking assistance to rescue the maltreated child. The video, accompanied by a voice condemning the treatment as “dehumanizing,” prompted appeals to the Lagos State government for intervention.
According to SP Hundeyin, Faith was apprehended by officers from the Oke-odo Division on Tuesday following the circulation of the video.
In response to the situation, the child has been placed under the care of the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development for proper care and shelter.
The statement from the police emphasized the swift action taken in response to the viral video, underscoring the commitment to ensuring the well-being and safety of all citizens, especially vulnerable individuals like children.
