Seven fatalities were discovered following an assault by armed individuals on a commuter bus traveling from Zaki Biam in Benue state to Maihula in Bali local government area. The attack occurred near Gamkwe village in Donga local government area on Wednesday, as confirmed by Benue State Commissioner of Police, CP David Iloyonomon.
The Tiv Cultural and Social Association in Taraba state has strongly condemned this attack. In a statement issued by the association’s President General, James Baka, on Thursday, they urged security agencies to swiftly apprehend the perpetrators and ensure a thorough investigation into the incident. Baka emphasized the need for the Taraba State Government and security agencies to expedite efforts in identifying the victims for proper burial and to resettle displaced persons in the area promptly to prevent further criminal activities in deserted areas.
