Political Analyst Bwala Predicts Peter Obi’s Potential Presidential Bid In 2039

Former Senator Daniel Bwala has asserted that Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections, will only have a chance at the Nigerian presidency starting from 2039. According to Bwala, this timeline is contingent upon President Bola Tinubu completing two terms, followed by another northern presidency lasting eight years, before power rotates back to the south.

Expressing his views via his X handle, Bwala emphasized that in 2039, Obi would be approximately 79 years old, shifting the focus from his relative youth to his capacity and qualifications for the role. Bwala further noted the shifting dynamics within Nigerian politics, suggesting that by 2039, those currently championing youthfulness would transition into roles of elder statesmanship.

Meanwhile, in a separate development, Lauretta Onochie, a former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, commented on the potential political maneuverings involving Atiku Abubakar stepping down for Peter Obi in 2027. Onochie suggested that such a move might inadvertently facilitate Bola Tinubu’s reelection bid.
