Ike, who contested the House of Representatives seat for the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), made the statement during an interview on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief.

The controversy began after Olayinka posted on X (formerly Twitter), claiming that Ike was initially registered as a voter in Imo State before transferring his registration to the Federal Capital Territory.

“Emeka Ike was a registered voter in Imo State. He only transferred his INEC Registration to the FCT on May 15, 2026,” Olayinka wrote.

He also questioned the actor’s decision to contest the FCT seat and shared screenshots allegedly containing details from an INEC administrative portal, including Ike’s application number, registration centre, voter identification number, photograph, and other personal data.

Reacting to the development, Ike described the alleged access and publication of his information as alarming and unacceptable.

“It’s quite shocking, extreme, and it is the height of political rascality for a government officer to access a citizen’s information from the INEC cyber,” he said.

He argued that the incident raises serious concerns about privacy and the protection of citizens’ data.

“He is telling every Nigerian that whoever you are, I can pull your information from anywhere and I can do what I want, and that rascality needs to be stopped,” Ike added.

The actor said he is prepared to take legal steps against Olayinka over the alleged breach.

“Actions are ready, I’m ready to take him on. He has no right to exploit my privacy and insult Nigerians the way he did,” he said, adding that such conduct should not be repeated.

Ike also explained his decision to contest the House of Representatives seat in the FCT, stating that while he initially considered running in Imo State, he was encouraged by supporters in Abuja to join the race there instead.

“People came to me and told me, ‘Sir, you need to do this now, we need you in Abuja,’” he said.

“I considered it, seeing the relevant issues they brought on board, and I said okay fine, let’s see how we can build Abuja.”
