Musa, a constituent of Kogi Central Senatorial District, expressed concern that the suspension has left the region without proper representation, denying the people of Kogi Central the benefits of democracy. Speaking with News Central on Saturday, she criticized Natasha for failing to engage with her constituents about the issues she faced in the Senate and for not holding any town hall meetings to inform the public.

She emphasized, “How can we know what’s happening to her in the Senate? We are left in the dark, relying only on media reports. Now, we have a six-month vacancy, which is a significant issue for us. We need that position filled.”

Musa also took issue with Natasha’s refusal to apologize to her colleagues in the Senate, citing that many attempted to mediate during the altercation. She stated that Natasha’s unwillingness to acknowledge the appeals of senior senators was a missed opportunity to calm the situation.

Regarding Natasha’s sexual harassment allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Musa acknowledged the seriousness of the matter but urged Natasha to provide evidence to support her claims. She emphasized that Kogi women and Nigerian women would rally behind Natasha if she could prove the allegation.

However, Musa’s main concern was ensuring that the Senate seat for Kogi Central is filled to avoid further representation gaps. She concluded, “Our primary concern is that we need to have a senator in the Senate to represent us. We want to ensure that our region continues to receive the dividends of democracy.”
