The party announced the adjustment in a statement released on Saturday in Abuja by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi.

According to the ADC, the screening exercise for National Assembly aspirants will now take place in Abuja due to the prevailing security concerns in parts of northern Nigeria.

The party stated that all affected aspirants would receive updated information regarding the revised schedule and other necessary arrangements.

It also expressed regret over any inconvenience caused by the postponement and thanked aspirants and stakeholders for their understanding.

Meanwhile, former Rivers State Governor and ex-Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has officially joined the race for the ADC presidential ticket.

Amaechi disclosed on Thursday that he had submitted his nomination forms at the party’s national secretariat ahead of the next general election.

He said his decision to contest was motivated by a desire to restore dignity to Nigerians and tackle the country’s economic and social challenges.

The former minister is expected to compete against former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former presidential aspirant Hayetu-deen for the party’s presidential ticket.
