Speaking during an interview with a local radio station, Sagagi discussed the lingering political tension between the governor and his political mentor.

According to him, reconciliation efforts began shortly after signs emerged that the disagreement between the two leaders could escalate within the ruling political structure in Kano State.

Sagagi said Kwankwaso was willing to resolve the crisis peacefully and instructed him to engage Governor Yusuf in order to understand the source of the growing rift.

He claimed that after meeting with Yusuf and delivering Kwankwaso’s message, the governor personally fixed a date for a reconciliation meeting but later failed to attend.

Sagagi further alleged that he made repeated attempts to follow up on the planned meeting, but his calls and messages eventually went unanswered.

According to him, the lack of response stalled the reconciliation process and prevented further progress.

The former aide maintained that Kwankwaso remained open to dialogue throughout the period and insisted that multiple opportunities were created to quietly resolve the disagreement between both camps.
