Pregnant Woman Still In Bandits Captivity As Abductors Demand ₦500m
Bandits have reportedly demanded a ransom of ₦500 million for the release of Jamila, a pregnant woman who was abducted in Millennium City, Kaduna State.
According to Bush Radio Academy, Jamila was kidnapped on October 5, 2026, alongside Ahmed Zakka, his wife and their baby. While Zakka and his family have since regained their freedom, Jamila is reportedly still being held by her abductors.
Security analyst and conflict reporter Bakatsine raised the alarm in a post on X on Thursday night, October 15, calling on the authorities and other relevant stakeholders to intensify efforts to secure the pregnant woman’s release.
Bakatsine disclosed that the kidnappers had reportedly contacted Jamila’s husband and demanded ₦500 million in exchange for her freedom.
He also expressed concern over the woman’s reported fears for her safety, urging Nigerians not to overlook her situation following the release of Zakka and his family.
The security analyst appealed to government authorities, security agencies and individuals capable of assisting to take urgent action to ensure Jamila’s safe rescue.
He emphasised that her pregnancy made the situation particularly concerning, noting that both the woman and her unborn child required urgent attention.
Bakatsine further called for collective efforts to bring Jamila home safely, as her family continues to await her return.
The reported ransom demand has renewed concerns over kidnapping in Kaduna State and the dangers faced by victims held in captivity. However, the circumstances surrounding Jamila’s continued detention and the reported demand have not been independently verified.
