Clarifying the reason behind the declining food prices, the presidency attributed it to improved security, which has allowed farmers to return to their fields without fear. Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, made this known in a post on his account on Monday.

Bwala also accused opposition politicians of spreading false narratives about the food price reduction while misleading the public with claims that President Tinubu is harming the northern economy.

He assured Nigerians that Tinubu is committed to addressing insecurity and that those spreading misinformation are likely unhappy with the government’s progress.

“The drop in food prices is a result of our decisive actions against insecurity, enabling farmers to work freely and productively. President Tinubu is serious about governance,” Bwala stated.

“Ignore those spreading falsehoods that food imports are responsible for the price crash or that Tinubu is damaging the northern economy. Their frustration likely stems from the government’s success in tackling insecurity,” he added.
