The delegation, composed of leaders from both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was led by Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers State and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), along with his successor, Siminalayi Fubari.

Addressing the delegation, President Tinubu emphasized his determination that Nigeria should not have any association with poverty, insecurity, or underdevelopment. He assured that under his leadership, the prevailing narrative would be “permanently and positively changed.”

“We are not meant to be in a position to be poor. We will turn the tide! Somewhere, somehow in this storm, there’s a quiet and peaceful place for us. We will locate it,” he affirmed.

Highlighting the nation’s rich endowment, President Tinubu stressed that Nigerians should support one another and be good neighbors.

He emphasized that he is a president who does not offer excuses but is committed to working diligently for the nation’s prosperity, emphasizing that there is no reason for Nigeria to remain in poverty.

“We have no reason to be poor! We will not look back; we will run aggressively forward. Today, we may be swimming against the tide. But the waves will soon propel us forward from behind.

We will achieve the goals and dreams of our forefathers. I am inspired by the nation of people I now lead,” President Tinubu declared.

As the nation’s captain and primary advocate, he acknowledged the high expectations of the people and emphasized the need to reverse current trends and unlock possibilities within a short timeframe.

President Tinubu also reaffirmed the importance of accountability and press freedom in his administration.
