In connection to a drug trafficking operation, five individuals, including the trailer drivers, have been apprehended. He disclosed that one of the trailers, arriving from Benin Republic, was found to be transporting 4,927 packages of cannabis sativa, commonly known as Indian hemp.

The other trailer, originating from Ghana, was carrying 4,906 packages of the same substance. Both vehicles were intercepted by a police border patrol team at Samia Maje in Bagudo Local Government Area of Kebbi State, based on intelligence reports.

During questioning by journalists, one of the trailer drivers, Adeyemi, revealed that he had been paid M400,000 to transport the drugs to Lagos.

On the other hand, Agbola, the second driver, stated that he was promised N200,000 upon delivering the drugs in Lagos. He explained that he had initially gone to Benin Republic to deliver soft drinks when he was approached to transport the illegal substance.
