President Tinubu Approves 2024 National Honours Award Recipients

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given the green light for the 2024 National Honours Award, a prestigious event aimed at recognizing Nigerians and foreign nationals who have made significant contributions to the nation’s growth and development.

Naija News reports that Zaphaniah Jisalo, Nigeria’s Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, announced the plans for the event during a meeting with the ministry’s management team in Abuja on Tuesday.

Jisalo emphasized that the federal government is committed to honoring citizens who have excelled in various fields of endeavor. He also clarified that the application process for the national honours is entirely free, cautioning the public to avoid making any payments.

“The public is encouraged to look out for calls for nominations and to present individuals who have distinguished themselves by serving the nation and its people,” the minister said. “This is in line with the National Honours Award Act of 2004, which has been in effect since 1963.”
