The appeals sought to invalidate the primary election that designated Usman Ododo as the APC’s flagbearer for the upcoming governorship race scheduled for November 11, 2023.
Key political figures affiliated with the APC, both from within and outside Kogi State, reportedly engaged in discussions with Senator Adeyemi in Abuja, urging him to put differences aside and move forward harmoniously.
Sources indicate that this initiative by the APC’s national headquarters forms part of renewed efforts towards reconciliation, aiming for a focused and coordinated approach to address prevailing challenges.
This approach is especially pertinent considering the imminent governorship elections in Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi states, with the party’s leadership, led by the new national chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, striving to secure victories in these regions.
A source privy to the situation stated, “One of the major areas of concern that the party was looking to nip in the bud are the cases in court by Senator Smart Adeyemi and another aggrieved governorship aspirant, Abubakar Achimugu in Kogi State.”
