PSG Set To Shake Up Europe: Enrique Reopens Negotiations For Osimhen

Earlier this year, Enrique was reportedly hesitant to bring Osimhen into the squad, citing concerns over the forward’s temperament. Those doubts now appear to have eased.

A dip in form from Gonçalo Ramos, combined with a review of PSG’s attacking options, has prompted the club to revisit interest in the former Napoli striker, according to transfer expert Ekrem Konur.

“PSG is seriously considering pursuing a signing as early as next summer, showing that Luis Enrique no longer rules out a player of this profile,” Konur told Goal.

The shift has reignited discussions within PSG about the composition of their frontline. Konur explained that the reassessment stems from limitations in the current squad. “Osimhen has become a credible option again, particularly if PSG’s current number nine leaves,” he added.

Osimhen’s current club, Galatasaray, insist they have no plans to sell him in the winter, preferring that he completes the season in Turkey. Nonetheless, insiders suggest a substantial offer or a direct request from Osimhen could change their stance.

Meanwhile, Barcelona and Real Madrid are monitoring the situation closely. Barcelona view him as a long-term successor to Robert Lewandowski, while Madrid are evaluating options in case of future changes involving Vinicius Junior.

Reports from Spain indicate Madrid believe Osimhen’s pace, strength, and finishing ability could restore balance to their attack and allow Kylian Mbappé more freedom on the left. Spanish outlet Fichajes described him as an “instant threat” in any team.

PSG, however, appear to have the financial advantage. The French champions can offer a transfer fee and salary package beyond what Barcelona might manage.

“PSG have significantly greater resources than Barcelona, making it possible to submit an offer Galatasaray would struggle to refuse,” Konur said. “Combined with Luis Enrique’s new stance, this puts PSG in a strong position and makes the deal strategically important.”
