Drawing from his own brief experience near a battlefield despite not being a part of the armed forces, the esteemed cleric conveyed his insights into the harrowing nature of warfare.

He acknowledged that Nigeria is grappling with a multitude of pressing issues, including conflicts related to herders, banditry, kidnapping, and the struggle against hunger.

He articulated, “Our desire is to overcome the challenges we currently face and avoid any new ones. So, for those who advocate for peace in all quarters, I implore you to stand and beseech God.”

Meanwhile, Adamu Garba, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), asserted that the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) cannot directly declare war.

He stressed the necessity for approvals from the National Assembly, National Security Council, and the Council of State before any declaration of war. While addressing the possibility of ECOWAS declaring war on Niger Republic, he regarded it as a misstep for Africa if it were to transpire.
