Findings by  reveal that this move aims to appease disgruntled lawmakers in both the Senate and the House of Representatives as the National Assembly reconvenes for its plenary session today.

has learned that Akpabio and Abba are committed to alleviating the tension that arose from the composition of the standing committees in both chambers prior to the lawmakers’ recess in July.

A trustworthy source within the National Assembly informed  last night that during the holiday period, Akpabio and Abba received a flurry of protests from their dissatisfied colleagues.

The legislative leaders reportedly assured their protesting colleagues that they were prepared to review the committee assignments upon the resumption of plenary today.

This newspaper gathered yesterday that the presiding officers of the legislative houses have devised two options to address the diverse interests of their disgruntled colleagues, who expressed dissatisfaction with the July 27 committee allocations of chairmen and vice-chairmen.

Reliable sources close to the two presiding officers informed our correspondent that they have agreed to swap the leadership of the committees and establish new committees to accommodate the concerns of lawmakers who were evidently dissatisfied before the National Assembly’s shutdown in July and August.
