Ribadu also handed over Ambassador Idi Hong and 17 other rescued victims to the CDS, who will subsequently reunite them with their families. The brief handover ceremony took place at the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), located within the Office of the National Security Adviser in Abuja.

It will be recalled that Tsiga was abducted on February 5, 2025, in his hometown of Tsiga, Bakori Local Government Area, Katsina State, and regained his freedom after spending 56 days in captivity.

During the ceremony, the NSA lauded the security forces for their efforts in rescuing the victims and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to eradicating criminal elements in the country.

“Thanks to the dedication of our armed forces and other security agencies, we have successfully rescued and brought back our people. This time, it involves significant personalities who have served the nation. We are grateful for their safe return and to everyone who contributed to this success.

“This mission is ongoing, and we are conducting it with caution. We will not relent in pursuing those who threaten our peace,” Ribadu stated.
