Initial reports had suggested an explosion at the facility, citing statements from Christian Otiasah, an environmental manager from the Soku community. However, Renaissance swiftly debunked these claims, clarifying that no such incident occurred.

In an official statement, Renaissance’s Communications Manager, Bamidele Odugbesan, stated: “We categorically affirm that there was no gas explosion or fire at our Soku facility. Our operations continue uninterrupted, with all safety measures in place.”

The company reassured stakeholders and the public that its operations adhere strictly to safety and environmental regulations, emphasizing routine monitoring to prevent potential hazards.
